What should I tell my health care team before taking MARINOL?

Before taking MARINOL, be sure to tell your health care team if you

Are hypersensitive to any cannabinoid (the class of medicine that includes MARINOL) or to sesame oil
Have heart disease or mental health problems (such as mania, depression, or schizophrenia) or are allergic to any drugs
Take any other prescription or nonprescription medicines
Have abused drugs or alcohol
Currently take drugs or drink alcohol
Are pregnant or breastfeeding
